In the Kindergarten groups we will be going over the word family -in.  Please practice reading and spelling words that end in -in.  Examples are: bin, fin, pin, tin, win, chin, shin.

In the 1st grade groups we will begin Unit 9 which concentrates on closed syllables.  Those are words that have a (one) short vowel in the middle or the beginning of the word.  Examples for students to practice reading and spelling are: brush, melt, at, end, act, frog, up, yuck, plugs, lunch, drill.

Int he 2nd grade groups we will wrap up Unit 11, long e vowel teams (ea, ee, ey).  This week we will concentrate on double syllables.  Examples for the students to practice reading and spelling are: donkey, hockey, sneakers, chimney, peacock, thirteen, beehive. Our assessment on Unit 11 will be on Friday 3/22/13.
